Science engineered for precision
OUR STORY
From academic research to precision therapeutics
Primaura Therapeutics was founded to translate cutting-edge scientific discoveries into therapies capable of restoring physiological protein balance.
Born as a spin-off from the University of Trento, the company combines expertise in molecular biology, RNA therapeutics and genome engineering to address diseases driven by abnormal protein expression. Rather than focusing solely on replacing defective genes or introducing exogenous DNA, Primaura Therapeutics explores new ways to regulate how proteins are naturally produced within the cell.
At the core of this vision is the belief that many genetic disorders arise not simply because a protein is absent, but because its expression is no longer maintained within the narrow physiological range required for healthy cellular function. Restoring this balance represents an opportunity to develop more precise and potentially safer therapeutic strategies.
To transform this concept into reality, Primaura Therapeutics is developing BOOST 2.0, a proprietary platform designed to fine-tune endogenous protein production by targeting translation initiation. By working upstream of protein synthesis, the technology aims to restore physiological expression while preserving the native genomic context.
Today, Primaura Therapeutics continues to bridge academic excellence and therapeutic innovation, advancing a new generation of precision medicines built around the biology of protein dosage.
